My family has some rules. Firstly, one of the most important rules in my family is that each member of my family has to be responsible for household chores. For example, my mother goes shopping and prepares the meals, my dad mends things around the house in his free time, my sister does the laundry and I usually clean the house. Secondly, we always do morning exercise every day because we want to have better health. Finally, my sister and I must be home before 10 p.m because my parents are very strict. In spite of a lot of rules, I feel comfortable and safe because I know that my parents want the best things for me.

Tomtit [17]

Answer:

C). Mrs. Bennet has ample fortune to support her unmarried daughters for the rest of their lives.

Explanation:

The inference that readers can draw from the given paragraph would be that 'Mrs. Bennet had adequate fortune to back her unmarried daughters for the rest of their life.' <u>This inference can be made from the description like 'property consisted almost entirely in an estate of two thousand a year</u>', 'ample for her situation in life', etc. At that time, only male heirs or a distant relative(in absence of male heir) were allowed to inherit the property and therefore, the daughters sadly had no right to inherit their paternal estate or property. This is the reason why Mrs. Bennet looks for guys with 'possession of a good fortune' for marrying her daughters in order to fulfill this deficiency. Thus,<u> option C</u> is the correct answer.

What was one thing the Executive Committee<br> of the Ladies’ Waist and Dress Makers’<br> Union did?
STALIN [3.7K]

Answer:

The Ladies' Waist and Dress Makers ’Union Executive Board requested the immediate initiation of a severe investigation into the cause of the fire at the Triangle shop.

Explanation:

The Ladies' Waist and Dress Makers ’Union Executive Board requested the immediate initiation of a severe investigation into the cause of the fire at the Triangle shop. Due to the constant calls from the victims' families alleging and asking for the punishment of the store owners.

This is because the families believed that they were the real culprits for the fire that caused the death of 145 people. The union's executive director acknowledges that they can be blamed for the fire, but she cannot accuse them without evidence and has therefore requested an urgent investigation.
