Should colleges and universities have to pay their student-athletes?
tamaranim1 [39]

Answer:

No.

Explanation:

Colleges and Universities should not have to pay their student- athletes because,  the students are getting a full ride scholarship to pay for their college classes while playing sports for these schools. If the college athletes did not have classes it would be okay to be paid. The athletes are getting recruited at college level so it would make sense to have some kind of reward or benefit that one school is offering more than another. Meanwhile pro league is paying their athletes to play for them because it is their job to play for these teams. College is also temporary for up to 4 years while you can play in pro league for how ever long you would like.

This is my opinion on the topic.

Answer: In this sentence, the participial phrase is <u>'shining down on me.'</u>

Explanation:

  • Participial phrase is a phrase that begins with present/past participle.
  • Present participle usually ends in -ING, while past participle ends with -ED or, if irregular, is found in the third column.
  • Participial phrase always functions as an adjective, and provides further information about a particular noun from the same sentence.
  • In this case, <u><em>'shining down on me</em></u>' is a participial phrase, while '<u><em>shining'</em></u> is present participle. The phrase describes the noun 'sun'.
