Answer:

As such, Canada should arguably treat water the same way it treats oil or wheat — as a valuable commodity on the international market. As climate change increases water variability in many parts of the world, Canada will face increasing economic and political pressures to commoditize its abundant freshwater supplies.

Nubia rivaled Egypt for control over ______ .
alexandr402 [8]

Nubia rivaled Egypt for control over land.

Explanation:

Egypt and Nubia were two ancient civilizations that were neighboring each other. Egypt was located in the lower flow of the Nile River, while Nubia was located in the middle flow of the Nile River. At one point, both civilizations were strong and well developed, and while there was lot of collaboration between the two, there were also tensions. The tensions mainly came because of the rivalry over the trade routs and the land which both needed, especially Egypt.

  • The majority of the trade from sub-Saharan Africa was going through Nubia, and the Nubians had set some taxes on the trade goods so that they make more wealth.
  • The Egyptians didn't fancied that fact that they were paying taxes to Nubia, and they wanted to get hold onto the trade routes and control them themselves, thus they wanted the land for themselves.
  • Over time, the rivalry over the trade routes and the demand for new land escalated and Egypt and Nubia got into a conflict, with the Egyptians being the victorious side and making a monopoly when it came to trade between sub-Saharan Africa and North Africa.
  • The new land was desired in big part because the Nile River provided lot of fertile land for large scale agriculture, and with the growing population more and more food was needed.

Environmental factors that cause ill health
Over [174]

Answer:

Chemical pollution, air pollution, climate change, disease-causing microorganisms, abject health care, abysmal infrastructure, and inadequate water quality.

Explanation:

Different chemicals can impact human health in different ways, and often, exposure to dangerous or foreign substances creates health vulnerabilities. Air pollution describes any solid or liquid particles and gases suspended in the air and have harmful or poisonous effects. Climate change disrupts the natural world in several ways that can impede health and increase vulnerability to disease; these include increases in the planet’s temperature and more frequent heavy rains and runoff. Harmful microbes, which are more commonly called pathogens or germs, can infect humans and cause illness. Individuals who don’t have access to health care services like pharmaceuticals and dental care are at a higher risk for chronic conditions, including asthma, cancer, diabetes, or heart disease. Lack of local health care infrastructure, poorly maintained roads, and lack of access to clean drinking water impacts community health. Industrial waste and pollution, lack of access to proper water treatment and sanitation services, and outdated plumbing infrastructure contribute to poor water quality.
