Answer:

Tim was not hungry all day because he had eaten.

Tim is the subject. The predicate is him eating. When you put those together you make a sentence. Some sentences do not have predicates or subjects.

Summarize the princess academy (gee I hate this book)
katrin [286]

At first, Miri keeps getting into trouble for talking back, even costing the other girls a visit home when she talks back to Tutor Olana (which makes everyone hate her). The only person who seems willing to talk to Miri is Britta, a girl who just moved to Mount Eskel from the lowlands (after her parents died) and is shunned by the other girls because they assume that she thinks she's better than them.

After some time though, Miri starts to excel at her lessons. She finds that she loves to read and spends all of her free time in the classroom going through Tutor Olana's books and reading about the history of Danland. She also starts to figure out how to use quarry-speech—the way that villagers communicate with each other silently when they're working in the quarries.

She often hears the other girls—especially an older girl named Katar—talking about how annoying she is, but Miri ignores them and continues to excel in her lessons. When it comes time for spring holiday, Tutor Olana springs an exam on the girls and says that only the girls who pass will be able to go home. Miri and Katar pass, but Miri thinks that it's unfair for the other girls to have to stay behind, so she uses quarry-speech to tell them all to run, and they scamper back to the village even though Tutor Olana protests.

Lera25 [3.4K]

Hello. This question is incomplete. The full question is:

Read the excerpt from The Great Gatsby.

My own house was an eyesore, but it was a small eyesore, and it had been overlooked, so I had a view of the water, a partial view of my neighbor's lawn, and the consoling proximity of millionaires—all for eighty dollars a month.

Across the courtesy bay the white palaces of fashionable East Egg glittered along the water, and the history of the summer really begins on the evening I drove over there.

What message do phrases such as "the consoling proximity of millionaires" and "white palaces of fashionable East Egg glittered" convey to the reader?

Everyone in East Egg lives in a palace.

Financial wealth is desirable to the narrator.

The narrator despises people who live in large homes.

Financial wealth has no relevance in this novel.

Answer:

B. Financial Wealth is desirable to the narrator

Explanation:

The narrator shows that he lives in a humble and economically weak place, so much so that he refers to his own home as a monstrosity. However, when the author sees the rich part of the city that he can see from his house, he uses positive adjectives, which show that wealth is totally admirable and that he wants to have that wealth and not only admire it, but live it. For this reason, he uses the phrases: "the consoling proximity of millionaires" and "white palaces of fashionable East Egg glittered"

ZanzabumX [31]

Answer:

Astronomers are telling people to be especially watchful this evening, as a rare event could be making a very special appearance. The release of energised particles from the sun, coupled with particularly helpful overnight conditions, is predicted to make the Northern Lights (Aurora Borealis) visible much further south than normal. Interviewed earlier today by Chris Ross, Channel Six’s science correspondent, Derwent University’s Professor Andrew Higgins told her that, "It's a once-in-a-decade opportunity that people really shouldn’t miss. Thanks to several fronts of high air pressure, the skies tonight will be particularly clear. Ill is over the moon comes the dawn."
