Alja [10]

Answer:

The two poems that the question is talking about are:

Innocence and Experience by the author William Blake.

The correct answer is:

C) In the first poem, the child is pure; in the second he is corrupt.

Explanation:

The author William Blake uses the collection of his two poems, Innocence and Experience in order to explain the different stages of the soul in terms of purity and corruption for the human beings.

In the first poem Innocence, the author talks about a pure child who is in the first stages of life only knowing about goodness, chastity, purity, love and sweetness.

- "Sweet babe, in thy face

Holy image I can trace;Sweet babe, once like thee

Thy Maker lay, and wept for me:" -

Later on, in the second poem Experience the author mentions about the way in which human beings learn about corruption as life passes. Across this text, it is possible to see reflected different feeling and attitudes that people adopt, it is condition that leads humans to be immoral in some way, this is to be considered the contrary of innocence.

- "Sweet babe, in thy face

Soft desires I can trace,

Secret joys and secret smiles,

Little pretty infant wiles." -

The second half of chapter 8 provides many examples of the result of Gatsby’s dream. Identify several of them.
wel
Gatsby's dream is basically the American Dream. That is, Gatsby wanted to make himself into a rich man who could have not only wealth but also love (Daisy).

The second half of Chapter 8 shows the results of Gatsby's dream. Gatsby, of course, is murdered by George Wilson. Wilson mistakenly believed Gatsby was responsible for the death of his wife. What Wilson didn't know, however, is that Daisy was driving Gatsby's car; therefore, Daisy was responsible for her death.

Therefore it is ironic that Gatsby's love for Daisy led to his death. His dream, then, is ultimately unattainable. He will never achieve the happiness he hoped for, and the person he loved most brought about his demise, albeit accidentally.

20 points TIMES SENSITIVE
murzikaleks [220]

Answer:

Harriet Beecher Stowe was an American writer and abolitionist. She came from an American family with an ingrained Puritan tradition and resistance to slavery. Her most famous work is Uncle Tom's Cabin, which significantly influenced America and Britain in the fight against slavery. Harriet spent much of her life on the border of northern and southern parts of America, so all of her anti-slavery works are based on a fact she knew from childhood. Throughout her life, she contributed to the fight against slavery in America through her journalistic and literary activities.
