Discuss ancient peoples' strategies for surviving in the varied climates of NA. How did their different approaches to survival c
Taya2010 [7]

1. The ancient people of North America had different survival strategies. The reason for this is that there are numerous different types of climates and landscapes, thus numerous different types of living conditions. Some of the ancient people of this part of the world were primarily orientated towards gathering plants and their products, some were almost exclusively hunters on the open plains, some hunted in the forests. Others were actually fishing and gathering marine life along the shores, and the ones living in the coldest regions tended to either make holes in the ice and fish, or go in the open sea and hunt for large animals.

2. All of the different survival strategies practiced by the ancient people of North America contributed to the development of different cultures, thus there was big diversity. The culture, the way of living of the people, was determined by their surroundings, and the manner in which they were dealing it. This lead to regional differences where the cultures became very different, the daily lives were much different, the occupations of the people specified, the roles of the people became different.

3. Apart from the living conditions which heavily influenced the cultural diversity in North America, there were other things that left their mark, and one of them is the origin of the people. While the majority of the ancient people in North America came from Siberia, the migration occurred in several waves few thousand years apart, thus every new migrate wave brought in something new. By the newest findings it turned out that there were also white settlers in ancient times along the eastern coast, as well as Polinesian settlers in the sub-region of Central America, thus spicing up the cultural landscape even more.

As you can see, the regions of Israel and Palestine have been a center of conflict in the world for many years. You will now con
Afina-wow [57]

In the first article, the author perceives that there is a wide variety of ways to understand the Palestine - Israel conflict of over 130 years that's full of bitterness and complexity. Its noted that the efforts to explain the fall in realms of politics, media, lobbying, academia, and the general public conflict as reflected when one party advocates for "truth" against the other groups "myths and propaganda."  The author also notes how scholars, journalists, and analysts acknowledge and discuss these "parties" competing "narratives" of conflict, (Caplan, 2011).

In the second article, the author employs the Palestinian-Israeli conflict as an example of superficially stubborn ethnonational conflict through psychological dynamics that contribute to its stubbornness. The author reviews the unique characteristics of this conflict and the clash of narratives. Its pointed out that some of the ethnonational conflicts have features that increase their resistance to change. Societies in such conflicts form societal beliefs that, on the one hand, help them cope with the stressful conditions of the conflicts but, on the other hand, perpetuate the conflicts, (Rouhana &Bar, 1998).

The target audience for the first article are scholars, politicians, and for general reading as it gives a historical account of the Palestine- Israeli conflict. In the second article, the authors' target audience is for individuals or scholars who intend to understand the nature of conflict from a psychological perspective. Both articles tend to suit to equip their target audience with the necessary knowledge and understanding of the conflict.

When did Americans begin using computers in their homes and small businesses?
Yuki888 [10]

The correct answer is answer C ("In the 1980s").

Computers started reaching homes and businesses on a bigger scale during the eighties. The difference was made when IBM brought to the market the revolutionary concept of a Personal Computer (PC), which for the first time allowed a single user to operate a computer. Before then, the user would give commands to a mainframe computer and a whole team would have process the request and operate the machine in order to bring results.

Hope this helps!

For what purpose do archaeologists think mound A was built? Why do they think that?
alexira [117]

Answer:

Archaeologists identify Poverty Point culture by its characteristic artifacts and the nonlocal rocks used to make them. Imported rocks and minerals include various cherts and flints, soapstone, hematite, magnetite, slate, galena, copper, and many others. Radiocarbon dates indicate that some raw materials were being traded to the Poverty Point site and other sections of the Poverty Point culture area by 1730 B.C. The arrival of substantial amounts of these trade materials is a convenient point to define the onset of Poverty Point culture, and their disappearance, a good point to mark its end.
