What was the result of the proposed amendments to the Articles of Confederation made by chairman Pinckney in August 1786?
mina [271]

The correct answer is A) Congress did not feel that the Amendments would be passed by all 13 states and never acted upon the committee's recommendations.

The result of the proposed amendments to the Articles of Confederation made by chairman Pinckney in August 1786 was that Congress did not feel that the Amendments would be passed by all 13 states and never acted upon the committee's recommendations.

During the Constitutional Convention of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, the delegates met to give birth to the new Constitution that will rule the new nation. The Articles of Confederation -the first US Constitution- had many flaws and had left a weak central government. That is why the delegates were discussing and debating over the new Constitution.

Charles Pinckney was a delegate from South Carolina. In May 1786, had asked Congress to analyze the Articles and Congress accepted, forming a Committe. On August 7, 1786, had the amendments ready but they were never passed. The next step: the convention in Annapolis, Maryland.
