NEED HELP QUICK In a three- to five-paragraph essay, analyze whether U.S. foreign policy during the Cold War was motivated by a
Nadusha1986 [10]

This question requires you to write an essay, which is a task you can only perform. However, we can offer some information that will enable you to begin working. The Cold War was a time in history when the Soviet Union and the United States, together with their respective allies, fought for control of the world's ideologies and geopolitics. The United States claimed that its major goal was to advance democracy around the world, but in my opinion, the politics of this era were primarily driven by a desire to lead the world in terms of influence. This is corroborated by the fact that many of the choices taken by the United States during this time period appear to have been driven more by a desire to outperform the Soviet Union than by a desire to advance international relations. For instance, the Space Race had little effect on international democracy. In spite of this, it was crucial to winning the Cold War and defeating the Soviet Union. Similar to sports competition, the development of nuclear weapons is more intimately tied to a quest for geopolitical clout than to a desire to advance democracy.
