B tell me if you got it right
This excerpt proves that Odysseus’s men caused their own problems:
- By showing their physical weaknesses

What is the problem here?

In this passage, we are told about how Odysseus' men kept on feasting and drinking while the fugitives took valiant steps to escape from their hold. Their weakness, in this case, is their love for food and entertainment which the fugitives took advantage of.
This is quite normal in war situations. The enemy takes advantage of the weakness of the opposing side. So, the men in the camp of Odysseus feasted and drank a lot of wine which made them lose their vigilance. Thus, their camp was overtaken.

Explanation:
Gopal"s wife had just been informed that a surgical operation needed to be carried out on her husband who had been critically ill and bedridden for about one and half months.
This was the verdict of Dr Raman, Gopal's long-term friend, whose frankness and openness had earned him a reputation of being truthful.
Hence if Dr Raman said it, then it must be true.
Hence Dr Raman's verdict of the need to carry out an urgent operation on Gopal, in addition to the strain of protracted caring for her husband, was too much for Gopal's wife to bear, weakened her and made her to collapse on the floor.
