The difference between the ordinary woman and an actress is;

 • The ordinary woman is timid and easily deceived while the actress is a cunning person

In the story, "A Matter of Husband", the ordinary woman is portrayed as a simple-minded and timid person who was easily deceived by the false story told by the actress.

She had come to the actress in tears completely sure that her husband was having an affair with the actress. However, the actress sold a story to her of how her husband was trying to regain the love he had for her by doing things to get her jealous.

Without asking questions, the ordinary woman believed her and bought into the story.

In the end, it was revealed that her husband was actually in the actress's room. This shows that the actress was cunning while the ordinary woman was timid.

What is the best way to change this sentence from passive voice to active voice?
larisa86 [58]
A.
Half the students were failing the course near the end of the school year.

The sentence is written in passive voice because the course is the subject of the sentence and was being failed is the main verb phrase. The course can't fail. The students are the ones who are failing so to change it you must make the students the subject of the sentence. A is the only option that makes the students the subject.

What are the values of a and b?
topjm [15]

Answer:

a = –0.4 and b = 0.15

Explanation:

Shanti wrote the predicted values for a data set using the line of best fit y = 2.55x – 3.15. She computed two of the residual values. What are the values of a and b?

Residual values are the difference between Given and predicted value. That is:

Residual Value = Given - Predicted

Taking the values of the table:

a = 4.1 - 4.5 = -0.4

a = -0.4

And b is:

b = 7.2 - 7.05 = 0.15

b = 0.15

That means right answer is:

a = –0.4 and b = 0.15
