To answer your question, you can either interact with others by posting a question and hoping someone answers it, like you just did, or you can go to any currently posted question and click the 3 vertical dots to add a comment. When someone answers your question you can also talk to them in their comment section below their answer.
If you want to stay in contact with people you like, you can click on their profile and follow them, thus you can also get notified if they post any questions etc. I believe you can also go to your profile, to "invite friends" and you can send a link to people you know, but I wouldn't suggest you do this if you're new.
