natta225 [31]

The correct option is B) "Revolutionary leaders like Adams considered changing ideas and beliefs to be more important than the battles themselves."

The quotation by John Adams reflects that prior to the actual American Revolution, people had already changed their beliefs and principles and wanted independance from Great Britain. The pamphet "Common Sense" by Thomas Paine was written in 1776 and advocated for American independance. This pamphlet helped in the American people feeling for independance.

Baseball from pitch to hits story need answers
professor190 [17]

Hit by pitch:

In baseball, hit by pitch (HBP) is a situation in which a batter or his clothing or equipment (other than his bat) is struck directly by a pitch from the pitcher; the batter is called a hit batsman (HB). A hit batsman is awarded first base, provided that (in the plate umpire's judgment) he made an honest effort to avoid the pitch, although failure to do so is rarely called by an umpire. Being hit by a pitch is often caused by a batter standing too close to, or "crowding", home plate.

Records:

The all-time record for pitchers is held by Gus Weyhing with 277 (1887–1901). The modern-era career pitching record for most hit batsmen is 205 by Hall-of-Famer Walter Johnson. The season record is 54 by Phil Knell in 1891, and the game record is six, held by Ed Knouff and John Grimes.[8] Brady Anderson was the first player to be hit by a pitch two times in the same inning in an American League game. On April 25, 2014, Brandon Moss became the second when he was hit twice in the top of the 9th inning by Houston Astros pitchers. Five players have been hit by a pitch twice in the same inning in the National League.

What can be inferred from the following sentence in the passage?
user100 [1]

D) The sentence implies that the Colonel recognizes the attendant's name.

This sentence is all about the Colonel's behavior. The Colonel does not act differently until after the attendant reveals his name. Therefore, the Colonel recognizes the attendant's name. None of the other options are correct.

However, the Colonel believes the attendant said the name Colombo, but that is not the attendant's name and the attendant sets him straight.
