The workers of the Pullman Company went on strike on May 11, 1894 due to wage cuts. At that time, there is a severe recession (Panic of 1983) that lowered the company’s revenue. The Pullman Company housed its workers in a ‘company town’ with rigid rules, excessive water and gas rates, and rules forbidding workers to own or buy houses. As recession is ongoing, the company president George Pullman refused to lower its rents or the prices in its stores, leaving workers very little money for food and other necessities after paying rent, resulting in the Pullman Strike.

The main cause of the firings and reduction in wages for pullman workers was that the retreat of 1893 caused an extreme drop in requests for Pullman vehicles.

Further Explanation:

Pullman workers:

The over-the-rail Pullman workers, (for example, conductors and doormen) did not protest. Debs and the ARU considered a gigantic blacklist against all trains that conveyed a Pullman vehicle. It influenced most rail lines west of Detroit and at its pinnacle included some 250,000workers in 27 states.

Pullman treat his workers:

In light of the Panic of 1893, George Pullman brought down wages, disposed of employments, and expanded the quantity of hours expected of the laborers at his manufacturing plants. Simultaneously, he would not lower leases in his organization town or costs in his organization store.

Pullman workers make:

To start with laborers earned a reasonable pay. However by August of 1893, Mr. Pullman started cutting wages and laying off laborers because of a general wretchedness of exchange. The normal cut in wages was 33 percent.

Pullman workers do:

Pullman had a differing work power. He needed to employ African-Americans for specific occupations at the organization. Pullman utilized advertisements and different crusades to help bring laborers into his organization. At the point when his organization laid off laborers and brought down wages, it didn't diminish rents, and the laborers required a strike.

10 pts.

How did imperialism help give countries a strategic advantage over other countries?
Flauer [41]
Imperialism, although it is bad for the conquered countries and regions, is good for the countries that practice it, and even for those countries conquered to some extent (in terms of technology, development), and obtaining extra resources for conquering peoples. While the imperialist country obtains abundant net resources from other regions, expands its political power and makes its power and its world presence larger, the conquered country can obtain technology and life forms that help it from the conquering country. All the imperialist countries have enjoyed a better quality of life for their population and greater social and technological development, given the advantages of having many more lands, resources and people under their power. But finally, when conquered people fight for their independence, this power becomes to decrease and finally its lost.

Who conducted the political revolution against the Spanish monarchy in early nineteenth-century Latin America
777dan777 [17]

Creoles conducted the political revolution against the Spanish monarchy in early nineteenth-century Latin America

More about the revolution:

The Spanish Bourbon reforms of the 18th century caused significant instability in the relationships between the American colonial rulers and their citizens. Many Creoles, or people of Spanish ancestry who were born in America, believed that the Bourbon strategy was an unfair attack on their social rank, political influence, and money. In fact, certain Creoles in Venezuela and some communities that had moved from the periphery to the center during the late colonial era benefited from the progressive easing of trade restrictions, so others did not suffer during the second half of the 18th century. After hundreds of years of proven service to Spain, the American-born elites felt that the Bourbons were now treating them like a recently conquered nation.
