Which of the following is a trait of nineteenth century music?
zhenek [66]
What is "The following"? No one will know. But if I had to guess, it would be a mixture with the old and with the new. For example, Fredric Chopin Composed pieces in the nineteenth century (That's when he was in his prime) but he mixed classical music with a twist that was different from other famous predecessors (Bach, Beethoven, Mozart, etc.). So I would say a mixture of the old and new. Or something like that. Hope this helps :-)

The artistic movement that emphasized natural and mechanical motion and speed is called?
m_a_m_a [10]

Futurism was an artistic movement that emphasized speed and natural and mechanical motion.

This artistic movement was created in Italy in 1909 by poet Filippo  Tomasso Marinetti. He published the Manifesto of Futurism on the front page of Le Figaro, a relevant Paris newspaper.

In the manifesto, he proclaimed the beauty of speed. He even said that the speed of a racing car is more beautiful than the Victory of Samothrace.

The main characteristics of Futurism were:

  • Criticism of past works of art as "oppressive".
  • Celebration of modern marvels of industry and technology.
  • Expression of dynamism, movement, speed.

Some relevant artists from this artistic movement are Giacomo Balla, Umberto Boccioni, and Gino Severini.
