The phrase which best describes a period on the periodic table is: a row of elements

Periodic table can be defined as an organized tabular arrangement of all the chemical elements arranged in order of increasing atomic number or number of protons, especially in rows.

On a related note, chemical elements with the same number of valence electrons are found in the same column of the periodic table.

In conclusion, the rows of a periodic table are referred to as periods while the columns are referred to as groups.

Why are Neptune's years so long compared to Earth?
Black_prince [1.1K]

Answer:

Neptune’s axis of rotation is tilted 28 degrees with respect to the plane of its orbit around the Sun, which is similar to the axial tilts of Mars and Earth. This means that Neptune experiences seasons just like we do on Earth; however, since its year is so long, each of the four seasons lasts for over 40 years.

What is the main idea of the following poem? Fire and Ice by Robert Frost Some say the world will end in fire, Some say in ice.
Aleks04 [339]
I think you could choose either fire or ice.
fire = desire.

Selfishly wanting what you should not have is selfish desire. It is ruinous to think only of yourself. That's fire in this case.

hate is also very destructive. (I personally think that hate is the most dangerous of all possible character traits.) Hatred has emotional roots that cannot be easily overcome and certainly is not controlled by a tender heart. Intellect can be very guilty of hatred. That is why it is termed ice. Hatred can be quite cold governed by intellect.
