1. To sell a product. When you write to an editor its usually commenting on something you read. You COULD try to sell a product to them, but why? lol

2. Background Information. You don't necessarily have to understand the humor, but understanding the concepts is vital to understanding the cartoon. IF you don't know what the cartoon is about how can you understand it?

Essay life in a city is boon
Nikitich [7]

Answer:

City or Village - where shall we live? The recent trend is to settle in urban areas. Why? People migrate from villages to cities in search of jobs. Agriculture and cottage industries in villages is no longer an option to earn one's livelihood. Industrial and white collared jobs are the main attraction.

The city has quick means of transport as compared to the village. Buses, trains, rickshaws and private vehicles has made travelling long distances to ones work place, no problem at all, in the city.

The next attraction in a city is better medical facilities. From surgeries to transplants and even plastic surgery to enhance your beauty, the city has it all. Most villages have educational institutions mainly to the high school level. If there are colleges it is mainly for streams like Arts, Science and Commerce. However, in a city you are spoilt for choice. College education includes engineering, medical, veterinary, agriculture, space and aeronautics.

However there is a downside to this rosy picture. A city brings to mind slums and garbage everywhere. Entire families live on footpaths. Increase in population has led to abject poverty as there are not enough jobs to go around. People live in tiny flats close to each other with no privacy.

Garbage is a problem that no one has been able to solve in most cities. Besides the bad smell, garbage leads to breeding of mosquitoes and houseflies which in turn gives rise to malaria, dengue and so on.

So which one should it be, City or Village? If you have an adequate source of income the clean fresh village life would be better. However in today's fast-paced life of computers and rockets, living in a city has become a necessity.

hope this helps !.....

Write a story where a character decides to live a new life<br>
earnstyle [38]

Answer: Marcus was your average guy, he worked a 9-5 office job, lived in a decent apartment in downtown, and used 3 in 1 shampoo, conditioner, and body wash.

But he always wanted more.

Growing up he never imagined himself working an office job, or staying in one place. He lived for an adventure. Often times at work, he’d think back to when he was a kid playing with his friends, going on late night excursions and doing things he shouldn’t have been.

So one day, he decided to save up. Every check, every penny. He only spent his money on bills, food, and 3in1 shower soap.

When he finally had a few months of money saved he quit his job. He moved from his apartment, and brought a one way ticket to anywhere in the world.

No more morning reports, no more mediocre days… for Marcus only adventure awaits.

Explain why some authors use Informal English in their writing.
Arte-miy333 [17]

Answer:

In informal writing, a writer will often show more empathy towards the reader. They may, for example, explain a more complex thought more clearly. This is linked to the more personal style in informal writing, which is more suited to conveying emotions.
