All of a sudden, the downpour of rain abruptly stopped. The clouds opened up to reveal a brilliant yellow light that hurt the children's eyes. Margot stepped out into the soft grass and laid down, absorbing the heat into herself. Just sitting there in the sun made her think of when she was to go back home in a year. The thought filled her mind with even more joy as she ran around and around until she couldn't move a muscle. The two hours that the sun was out went by far too quickly; the rain came back with a sudden flash of thunder and the children were stampeding back into their underground homes. Margot took one last look outside before she was herded inside; hoping that the day when she would go back to Earth would come quickly.

I'm in seventh grade and I read this story only a few weeks ago. I chose to write a backstory for this and I really liked this project. I hope This helps you!
