Write a thesis statement on the topic below. Your thesis should be written as one complete sentence.
erica [24]

Answer: Yes, so if there is an emergency then could go up to the office and ask them if you could call your parents with your phone, let's say if you missed the bus then you could use your phone then too.

Explanation: Phone's can be a great resource in our lives, but they should be restricted from use in a learning environment, reminding us that education is 1st priority. Students in high school are most likely cheating because they are earning bad grades and they take advantage of their phones to do so. More than 200 students were expelled after being caught cheating in the Grade 12 board exam in the past three days. Nearly a dozen parents who helped them use unfair means were also arrested.

Which detail from the passage best supports the idea that Mr. Jones is a reckless farmer?
yuradex [85]

Answer:

"let fly a charge of Number 6 shot into the darkness"

Explanation:

A Number 6 is a type of shotgun, and shooting randomly into the darkness, without knowing what you're aiming at is pretty reckless if I do say so myself.

You should not use the authors' last names in the citation if the authors' names appear in your quote's signal phrase.
mariarad [96]

Answer:

True or False -  You should not use the authors’ last names in the citation if the authors’ names appear in the text.

Answer: True

Explanation below:

Explanation:

When it comes to English Grammar, a signal phrase is a type of phrase sentence or clause that often introduces a quotation, paraphrase, or summary. This type of phrase contains a verb together with the name of the person that is being quoted.

It alerts the reader that something taken from an entirely different source is about to be used.

Below is an example:

Daniel testified that he was not in the house when his neighbor’s dog died (13).

The author’s name is included and the page number in parenthesis.

So when the author’s name does not appear in the text, you should not use the author’s last names in the citation.
