Answer:

Lincoln-Douglas debates propelled Lincoln's political career into the national spotlight, while simultaneously stifling Douglas' career, and foreshadowing the 1860 Election. By 1858, Stephen A. Douglas was the most prominent politician in the West, if not the entire country. The Lincoln-Douglas debates were a series of seven debates between Democratic Senator Stephen A. Douglas and Republican challenger Abraham Lincoln during the 1858 Illinois senatorial campaign. The main issue of the debates was the extension of slavery into American territories.

Explanation(Short it up): The Lincoln Douglas debates were a series of debates between Abraham Lincoln and Stephen Douglas and they were both running for senate. The debate was mainly about slavery.

What was the end result of the United States decision to provide military aid to Central American countries in the 1980s?
ICE Princess25 [194]

During the Cold War, tensions between the United States and the Soviet Union were the common denominator in the foreign affairs of these two countries. Russia wanted to spread communism in many regions of the world. The Soviets had already influenced Hungary, East Germany, Bulgaria, Romania, Poland and Cuba. The United States always tried to stop communism from spreading throughout the world. So, the end result of the United States' decision to provide military aid to Central American countries was that it achieved its goal of containing Communism within the Central American region.
