4y= -3x+24, subtract 3x from both sides of the equation

y = (-3x/4) +6, divide both sides by 4

if y=0 then  

(-3x/4) +6 = 0  , subtract 6 from both sides

-3x/4 = -6, multiply both sides by 4

-3x = -24 , divide both sides by

x= 8, so the x intercept is at (8, 0)

the general formula of a line is y=mx+b , where b is the y-intercept

since our equation is y = (-3x/4) +6 then y intercept is at (0, 6)
