Y=10-4x

2x+3y=20
2x+3(10-4x)=20
2x+30-12x=20
-10x=20-30
x=1

4x+y=10
4(1)+y=10
y=10-4
y=6

If y=10-4x and 2x+3y=20
Then 2x+3(10-4x)=20
Distribute to : 2x+30-12x=20
Then combine 2x and -12x to make -10
Then you have -10x+30=20
Then subtract 30 from both sides
You get -10x = -10
Divide by -10 on both sides and get x=1

Describe how you regroup when you find the sum of 64 + 43
BlackZzzverrR [31]
I would split 64 into 60 & 4, and 43  into 40 & 3

Than i would add the 60 and 40 together (which will give me 100)
I will than add 4 & 3 together (which will give me 7)

Than i will add 100 and 7 together, which will give me 107

107 is your final answer

<u>Part</u><u> </u><u>1</u>

Subtracting 5 from both sides yields

x=f(x)-5

<u>Part</u><u> </u><u>2</u>

When the output, f(x) is 2, we can substitute that in to obtain

x=2-5=-3

Sean and Evan are college roommates who have part-time jobs as servers in restaurants. The distribution of Sean’s weekly income
Sauron [17]

Answer:

d. 0.303

Step-by-step explanation:

Normal Probability Distribution:

Problems of normal distributions can be solved using the z-score formula.

In a set with mean \mu and standard deviation \sigma, the z-score of a measure X is given by:

Z = \frac{X - \mu}{\sigma}

The Z-score measures how many standard deviations the measure is from the mean. After finding the Z-score, we look at the z-score table and find the p-value associated with this z-score. This p-value is the probability that the value of the measure is smaller than X, that is, the percentile of X. Subtracting 1 by the p-value, we get the probability that the value of the measure is greater than X.

Subtraction between normal variables:

When two normal variables are subtracted, the mean is the difference of the means, while the standard deviation is the square root of the sum of the variances.

In this question:

We want the probability of Sean having a greater income than Evan, which is the probability of the subtraction of Sean's income by Evan's income is greater than 0.

Distribution of the difference between Sean's and Evan's income:

Sean has mean 225, Evan 240. So

\mu = 225 - 240 = -15

Sean's standard deviation is of 25, Evan's of 15. So

\sigma = \sqrt{25^2+15^2} = 29.15

Probability that Sean will have a greater income than Evan in a randomly selected week:

Probability of the subtraction being greater than 0, which is 1 subtracted by the pvalue of Z when X = 0. So

Z = \frac{X - \mu}{\sigma}

Z = \frac{0 - (-15)}{29.15}

Z = 0.51

Z = 0.51 has a pvalue of 0.695

1 - 0.695 = 0.305.

Closest to 0.303, option d.
