A = deposit at US bank

b = deposit at 7/4 bank

c = deposit at Catch bank.

we know her total is 3886, thus  a + b + c = 3886.

now, we know whatever "b" is, the amount at US bank, "a", is 3 times that much, thus a = 3b.

(3b) + b + c = 3886.

whatever% of anything, is just (whatever/100) * anything.

we know Catch bank gets 45% of whatever the sum of the other two is, well, US bank gets "3b", 7/4 bank gets "b", their total is 3b + b = 4b, and Catch bank gets 45% of that, (45/100) * 4b

\bf \stackrel{US~bank}{3b}~+~\stackrel{7/4~bank}{b}~+~\stackrel{Catch~bank}{\frac{45}{100}(4b)}~=~3886
\\\\\\
4b+\cfrac{9}{5}b=3886\impliedby \textit{let's multiply both sides by }\stackrel{LCD}{5}
\\\\\\
20b+9b=19430\implies 29b=19430\implies b=\cfrac{19430}{29}\implies b=670

how much is it for the Catch bank?  well, (45/100) * 4(670).

A 2.7 meter ladder leans against a house forming
mrs_skeptik [129]

Answer:

1.35m

Step-by-step explanation:

A 2.7 meter ladder leans against a house forming a 30° angle with the house. Exactly how far is the base of the ladder from the house?

We solve the above question using the Trigonometric function of Sine

cos theta = Opposite/Hypotenuse

From the question

Opposite = Distance of base of the ladder from the house = x

Hypotenuse = Length of the ladder = 2.7m

Theta = 30°

Hence,

sin 30 = x/2.7 m

Cross Multiply

x = sin 30 × 2.7m

x = 1.35m

Option b is correct.

Olivia walked 2 2/5 km in 2/3 hour while Ryan walked 4 1/2 km in 1 1/2 hours. Who walked faster and how much faster?
Aleks04 [339]
Find the unit rate for each Olivia and Ryan:

2 2/5 km       15       36 km
------------ * ------- = ------------ = 3.6 km/hr (Olivia)
 2/3 hr          15        10 hr

4 1/2 km          2          9 km
------------- * --------- = --------- = 3 km/hr (Ryan)
1 1/2 hr           2           3 hr

Olivia walked 0.6 km/hr faster than did Ryan.
