Hemophilia is a hereditary bleeding disorder that primarily affects males.

This is because hemophilia is a mutation that occurs on the X chromosome.

All males have the XY chromosome while females have two X chromosomes

which is XX.

Males having only one X chromosome means that no substitution can occur

during reproduction unlike the females which have two X chromosomes

which can be substituted if one is mutated. This is why hemophilia occurs far

more common in males.

Answer:

It is a mutation to the X-chromosome.

Explanation:

One of the reproductive strategies of terrestrial vertebrates is the ability of fertilized eggs to develop away from the body of water.

Water is very important for fertilization in aquatic organisms and one of the biggest challenges posed by migrating to the terrestrial environment is desiccation of the eggs.
