Bonjour !!

Translate the following conversation into natural French.

Andrée : Ils ont cent quatre-vingt et une choses ! <em>(181 = cent-quatre-vingt-un , but here it's followeed by a feminine noun ==> cent-quatre-vingt et une choses. it's invariable so no 'plural'</em>

Delphine : Combien est-ce qu'ils payent ? <em>(or 'paient' . Both are okay. </em><em>*</em><em>See below)</em>

Andrée = Deux mille six cents dollars.

*Mille" never takes an 'S'

"Cent" takes an 'S' if not followed by another number. (same for 'vingt') 200 = deux cents // but // 202 = deux cent deux

for the - between each number, I don't know how you've learnt it.

It's authorized to always write it with a - between each numbers because the rules ware quite difficult.

I wrote it the 'normal way' as I was taught

* <u>Payer </u>(présent)

je paie/paye

tu paies/payes

il/elle/on paie/paye

nous payons

vous payez

ils/elles paient/payent

Did my best to explain hope it's not too confusing !
