Answer: Read the explanantion

Explanation:

Sagala, Sakala (Sanskrit: साकला), or Sangala (Ancient Greek: Σάγγαλα) was a city in ancient India,[1][2] which was the predecessor of the modern city of Sialkot that is located in what is now Pakistan's northern Punjab province.[3][4][5][6] The city was the capital of the Madra Kingdom and it was razed in 326 BC during the Indian campaign of Alexander the Great.[7] In the 2nd century BC, Sagala was made capital of the Indo-Greek kingdom by Menander I. Menander embraced Buddhism after extensive debating with a Buddhist monk, as recorded in the Buddhist text Milinda Panha.[8] Sagala became a major centre for Buddhism under his reign, and prospered as a major trading centre.

Correct answer choice is :

D) To act as a ceremonial role within the Senate.

Explanation:

The President pro tempore of the United States Senate is the second leading ranking leader of the United States Senate. Article One, Section Three of the United States Constitution renders that the Vice President of the United States is the President of the Senate, and mandates that the Senate must elect a President pro tempore to act in the Vice President's inadequacy. Unlike the Vice President, the President pro tempore is an elected member of the Senate, ready to express or vote on any matter. Elected by the Senate at large, the President pro tempore has experienced many events and some short commands. During the Vice President's inadequacy, the President pro tempore is authorized to control over Senate gatherings.
