Sliva [168]

Answer:

Honesty is an object you could sell, then who would buy it? Honest people wont buy it because they already have it. Dishonest people wont buy it as it would harm them. Now lets see if you want to sell dishonesty. All the dishonest would it to add value to them and honest people cant afford to buy it in the bid with dishonest people.

So values of anything is defined by how much it would give benefit to some one with respect to his affordability and how much people want it with respect to how many have it.But in the 21st century no one really cares about it as discrimination is the best word we can describe for the world that we are living.

Read the topic sentence from Asher's analysis of Enrique's Journey.
umka21 [38]

Answer:

D and E

D. "He stops at a barbershop. His hair is curly and far too long. It is an easy tip-off. People here tend to have straighter hair."

E. "'¡Órale, jefe!' he says, using a phrase Oaxacans favor. 'Hey, chief!' He mutes his flat Central American accent and speaks softly and singsongy, like an Oaxacan."

Explanation:

The above excerpt shows how difficult it was to interact with the local population in Oaxaca, especially when an individual, like Enrique, was very different from the natives and seemed to have an exotic experience for them, which highlighted him and did not allow him to fit in. Knowing this and needing to interact and fit in with the population, Enrique, through his intelligence and resourcefulness, realized that it would be positive if he cut his big curly hair, to look more like the local population and to be so out of place among the natives, who used to have straight and shorter hair.

Think of 2 society rules and the punishments for those who break the rules. Think of 2 personal rules and the punishments if you
boyakko [2]

Your rights - general

Rules and punishments must always be fair.

You never have to put up with bad treatment just because you are a child. In fact, the law gives you extra protection because you are a child.

So, let’s start with a law passed by our Parliament in London in 1998. This is called the Human Rights Act. It gives rights to children and adults. Three of the rights are very relevant to rules and punishments:

You have the right to respect for your private life. This is about your mind and your body being safe. This protection comes from Article 8 of the European Convention on Human Rights, which is one of the rights protected by our Human Rights Act. Punishments that harm children’s bodies or minds could be violating this right. This would make them unlawful. A recent example of this is a boy who was kept in his prison cell for over 100 days with hardly any time outside. A judge said his Article 8 right to protection had been breached.

You also have the right to protection from inhuman and degrading treatment or punishment. This protection from very cruel treatment comes from Article 3 of the European Convention on Human Rights. Judges in an important case 10 years ago said staff deliberately causing pain during restraint just to make children follow orders would be violating this Article 3 right. Hopefully you also know that staff can never hit you or abuse you in any way, even if you have done something wrong.
