The US involvement in WW2 ended the policies of isolationism through the direct involvement through the selling of supplies and direct troop deployments into the european conflict that was previously called just that. It contributed to the emergence of the US as a superpower by boosting the economy out of the depression, creating record-breaking amounts of employment, technological innovation, production rates, and overall economic growth that caused a huge boom in US success. With the massive growth of military technology (both size and strength) along with the final stroke with the development of the atomic bomb, all set the US on a path to become a superpower, and ultimately vying for the #1 spot with the Soviet Union.
