African americans played a big part in the American Revolution! They helped the Amercans and the British. The British offered to give them freedom and they also helped the Americans because they believed in the cause or they were payed.

Many African Americans were beneficial to both sides. The American colonists won and they had the help of over 5000 African Americans.
