Can someone please describe the role of fermentation in maintaining ATP and NAD+ levels? I cant fully grasp the concept. Answer
Solnce55 [7]
Fermentation is the process by which a carbohydrate molecule is broken down into alcohol and carbon dioxide in the absence of oxygen. During this process, two molecules of ATP is produced. In the absence of oxygen, pyruvate formed from glycolysis will undergo fermentation process. During the process of fermentation, NADH from glycolysis will be converted back to NAD+. This is necessary in order for glycolysis to continue. Thus, fermentation regenerate more NAD+ and only a few molecule of ATP.

Which activity is an example of a decomposer recycling organic compounds back into the environment
egoroff_w [7]

ANSWER:

Bio-degradation is an example of a decomposer recycling organic compounds back into the environment.

EXPLANATION:

 • Biodegradation is a process which occurs naturally when chemical breakdown of the dead animals and plants is conducted by the microorganisms like bacteria and fungi.
 • This is initiated with the secretion of certain enzymes by these organisms.
 • Biodegradation causes the breakdown of the wastes products and remains of dead organisms, ad avoids their piling up.
 • It also releases 'valuable nutrients into the environment' for re-use by other organisms.
