Use the associative property of addition to find the total of 4,12 and 18
Dahasolnce [82]

Answer:

The correct answer is the alternative because the associative property of the sum states that despite of how the numbers are grouped, the result is not affected

Step-by-step explanation:

4 + 12+ 18 = (4+12)+18  --> one form to be grouped (note parenthesis)                            = 4 + (12 +18) --> Second form to be grouped

Hence:

(4+12)+18 = 4+(12+18)  (Associative property)

Which is greater 0.7 or 3/4
vovangra [49]
0.7 can be turned into a fraction which can be 70/100 and 3/4 can be turned into 75/100 so 3/4 would be greater

In the given diagram, the value of the dashed side of rhombus OABC is 5

Distance between two points

From the question, we are to determine the length of the dashed line (OA), in rhombus OABC

In the diagram, we can observe that the length of OA is the distance between point A and the origin (O).

Using the formula for calculating distance between two points,

d =√[(x₂-x₁)² + (y₂-y₁)²]

In the diagram,

The coordinate of the origin is (0, 0)

The coordinate of point A is (3, 4)

Thus,

x₁ = 0

x₂ = 3

y₁ = 0

y₂ = 4

Putting the parameters into the formula, we get

OA =√[(3-0)² + (4-0)²]

OA =√(3² + 4²)

OA =√(9+16)

∴ OA =√25

OA = 5

Hence, in the given diagram, the value of the dashed side of rhombus OABC is 5

5x-(5x+3=-1/3(12x+21)
katrin2010 [14]

Answer: x = -1

Step-by-step explanation:

i assume you mean

5x-(5x+3) = -1/3(12x+21)

lets start with the left

-(5x+3) can be turnd into -5x-3

now it is

5x-5x-3 and that can be just -3

now lets go to the right and get rid of the 1/3

we see the 3 at the bottom of 1/3, and (12x+21) can be factored with 3

so 1/3 x 3(4x+7) is what we get

1/3 x 3 cancels out so we are left with

-3 = (-4x-7)

lets try to get -4x by itself

if you move -4x to the left, turning it into 4x, and move -3 to the right, turning it into 3, you get 4x = -7 +3

-7 +3 = -4

4x = -4

devide by 4

4x/4 = -4/4

x = -1
