Answer:

I would say to use all the parties involved to shape their experience from a different perspective.  The way you shape your perspective can have a big impact on how your reader sees your all-inclusive and overall plot.  The author should take part as one of the characters and you should show WHAT happened and you need to establish your perspective uniquely.  A key thing is that you want your reader to take away from what you are writing, and the tone of voice you are using.  Also for the problem, why was it a problem?  Who helped solve or help the problem?  If there is a solution, then explain that in detail, and since it is a personal narrative, how do you feel overall from the problem or conflict?  I HOPE THIS HELPS, PLEASE CORRECT ME IF I'M WRONG!

Which excerpt from Amy Tan's "Fish Cheeks" is most clearly an example of conflict? A. A bowl soaking dried fungus back to life.
saul85 [17]

Answer:

D. When I found out that my parents had invited the minister's family over for Christmas Eve dinner, I cried. What would Robert think of our shabby Chinese Christmas?

Explanation:

A "conflict" refers to the struggle that the character in the story faces. This brings about<em> problem</em> or <em>tension</em> in the story.

"Fish Cheeks" is a narrative essay written by <em>Amy Tan</em>, a Chinese-American author. The story talks about a<em> 14-year-old girl</em> who was worried about how her mom invited the minister's family for a <em>Christmas Eve dinner</em>. Since she belonged to a Chinese family, she was worried about how the minister's family would perceive their Chinese way of celebrating Christmas. She was particularly worried because she fell in love with Robert, the minister's son. So, this part is where the tension or conflict of the story falls. The main character is having a problem about the upcoming Christmas Eve dinner. This aspect challenged the character on what she'll be doing during the event.

polygamy Select the root of the word above, then the meaning of that root by clicking on the drop down arrows below. root:
Dmitry [639]

"Polygamy" has two roots; the first part of the word (<em>poly</em>) comes from the greek word "<em>polús</em>", that means "many"; the second part of the word (gamy) comes from the greek term "<em>gámos</em>", which means "marriage"; both terms were used in an ancient greek word: "<em>polugamos</em>" that literally meant "married to many". The word "polygamy" in english also refers to someone who is married to more than one person.
