NASA satellite observations and citizen science helped build a database called HIVE-OS to help local businesses understand variables like soil moisture and plants that affect honeybee health.
<span>The majority of uranium mines and tailing pies are found in 14 western states. The prime locations are Utah, Arizona, Colorado, New Mexico and Wyoming.
Most of these sites are conventional underground and open pit mines, and are present on tribal and federal lands.</span>
