Bots or robots are programmed agents that simulate activities normally performed by humans. While some people believe that bots are advantageous, others do not believe this.

  • Bots serve a lot of useful purposes because they save time that would have been used by humans to perform certain functions. They also allow people to focus on more important tasks. Bots can be used in business websites to answer the queries that customers might have about products.
  • The counterargument about bots is that they are expensive to install and can be invasive.
  • As with every other new technology, it is not unusual that this technology is expensive. In time, when its use has gained more acceptance, its expensiveness will be reduced. The invasive nature of bots can also be prevented by proper design and installation of software that prevents malicious attacks. So, if the design is right, then the bot will not be invasive.
  • Summarily, bots are very useful for repetitive tasks that require the constant presence of humans. Businesses and their clients can benefit a lot from bots.

Bots are automated agents that perform certain jobs that would otherwise have been done by humans. It is true that there may be certain downsides to bots but in time these will be modified.

People should embrace bots because they are useful technologies that assist humans in repetitive tasks even though they may still have to be supervised at times.
