Natural disasters destroy lands and homes for any who live in that region. These catastrophes affect crops and livestock, which are economic factors, as well as placing delays on other exports by closing ports and factories. The economy often takes years to recover from the depletion of exports and money. Natural disasters also claim hundreds and even thousands of lives each year, and displace survivors from their home. Survivors are left homeless and often with little money, food, and clothing. Oftentimes, these are countries that rely heavily on countries such as America buying their products and exports to keep the economy from crumbling. Given that most of the citizens in the region are impoverished, the devastating effects of natural disasters are amplified and felt across the globe.
