Step-by-step explanation:

<h3>⟨1.⟩</h3>

Given equation is 2x²+9x = -4

⇛ 2x²+9x+4 = 0

The standard form of the equation is 2x²+9x+4 = 0

On comparing the given equation with ax²+bx+c = 0

We have

a = 2

a = 9

c = 4

By using Quadratic Formula

x = [-b±√(b²-4ac)]/2a

On Substituting these values in the above formula then

⇛ x = [-9±√{9²-4(2)(4)}]/2(2)

⇛ x = {-9±√(81-32)}/4

⇛ x = {-9±√49}/4

⇛ x = (-9±7)/4

⇛ x = (-9+7)/4 or (-9-7)/4

⇛ x = -2/4 or -16/4

⇛ x = -1/2 or -4

The roots are -1/2 and -4

<h3>⟨2.⟩</h3>

Given equation is 3(x-4)²+11 = 0

⇛ 3(x²-8x+16)+11 = 0

⇛ 3x²-24x+48+11 = 0

⇛ 3x²-24x+59 = 0

The standard form of the equation is

3x²-24x+59= 0

On comparing the given equation with ax²+bx+c = 0

We have

a = 3

= 3b = -24

= 3b = -24c = 59

By using Quadratic Formula

x = [-b±√(b²-4ac)]/2a

On Substituting these values in the above formula then

⇛ x = [-(-24)±√{(-24)²-4(3)(59)}]/2(3)

⇛ x = {24±√(576-708)}/6

⇛ x = {24±√-132}/6

⇛ x = {24±2(-33)}/6

⇛ x = 2(12±√-33)/6

⇛ x = (12±√-33)/3

The roots are (12+√-33)/3 and

(12-√-33)/3

<h3>⟨a.⟩</h3>

I used the Quadratic Formula bu substituting the values of a , b and c values in it.

<h3>⟨b.⟩</h3>

Given two equations are Quadratic equations so they have two solutions or roots.

Since the degree of the Quadratic equations is 2.

Hope this helps!!

Alenkasestr [34]
It is 45 yd from the base of the pole.

The pieces of the right triangle we are given are one of the legs (the height of the pole, 60 yd) and the hypotenuse (the length of the cable, 75 yd).  Using the Pythagorean theorem, we have:

60²+b²=75²
3600+b²=5625

Subtract 3600 from both sides:
3600+b²-3600=5625-3600
b²=2025

Take the square root of both sides:
√(b²) = √2025
b = 45

Identify the correct solution to the problem 3 x 9/10
vitfil [10]
Step by step:

3 x 9/10
Turn 3 into a fraction
3/1 x 9/10
Now multiply straight across
3x9=27 and 1x10=10
So you get
27/10 or 27/10 or 2.7

This can also be completed by simply turning 9/10 into a decimal and doing
3 x 0.9 = 2.7

PLEASE HELP
geniusboy [140]

Answer:

b = {0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5}

Step-by-step explanation:

The domain of a function is simply all the possible values the independent variable can assume that the function will work and will give a real number.

In this question, we have:

m = 45 – 8b

b is the independent variable because the money, m, depends on the number of books, b, bought.

Since we can't have negative value for m as it represents an amount of money, then the values b can assume can be gotten through:

45 – 8b = 0,

8b = 45

b = 45/8 = 5.625

For the m, money, to remain positive b shouldn't go beyond 5.625

Also we should note that b, books, can't be a negative (no such thing as negative books) or a fractional value (no such thing as buying parts of a book) as well. Therefore, b = {0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5}
