Rewrite the paragraph below in the Past Tense. The kitchen is very untidy. It smells musty, old, and stale with not a trai

l of fry onions, or roast breadfruit or anything to eat. The gas stove does not work for there is no more gas and the cylinder which stands beside it looks guilty and forlorn. The coal pot Doris uses each time the gas runs out squats near to the door the leads outside. On the long counter are the remains of two mixing bowls and several cups and saucers. We have always thought that there are only two doors in the kitchen, the one which leads to the back garden and the other leading to the pantry. But now we see that above, in the upper shelves which has always been crammed with spare crockery, there is another small door. None of us has seen it before. We have no idea that such a splendid mystery awaits us in the kitchen.

Identify the point of view in this paragraph: The dew on the grass made
Artemon [7]

I've looked this question up online. The options are simply:

a. First Person

b. Second Person

c. Third Person

Answer:

The point of view in this paragraph is:

a. First person.

Explanation:

The narrator of the excerpt is telling the story from a first-person point of view. The easiest way to confirm that is by taking a look at the pronouns used:

The dew on the grass made my running shoes damp. It didn't bother me. The sound of my feet hitting the street formed a rhythm, a steady pattern of light thumps. I timed my breathing with the rhythm.

First-person narrators use first-person pronouns such as "I" and "me". This type of narrator gives us his/her own perspective on things. That means we accompany this narrator throughout the story, see things from his perspective, and only get to know what he knows. One advantage of first-person point of view is that we get to dive deeper into the narrator's feelings and thoughts. One disadvantage is that he is a biased narrator, which makes him untrustworthy.

How much does your family rely on you? How different would your life be if they relied on you more or less than they do now?
olga2289 [7]

They rely on me pretty much. I have an older brother so it's not that much but I do a lot for my family. I think that if they relied on me less I would never learn to be responsible for myself or anyone else.

I hope this is what you were looking for!

Mandarinka [93]

Answer:

Andrea Mathews looked at the tiny hat in his hands and felt jumpy.

He walked over to the window and reflected on his beautiful surroundings. He had always loved grey Amsterdam with its lonely, light lakes. It was a place that encouraged his tendency to feel jumpy.

Then he saw something in the distance, or rather someone. It was the figure of Jona Thunder. Jona was a clever coward with brunette hair.

Andrea gulped. He glanced at his own reflection. He was tall with thick eyebrows and wide thighs. His friends saw him as courageous. Once, he had even brought a knowing puppy back from the brink of death.

But not even a special person who had once brought a knowing puppy back from the brink of death, was prepared for what Jona had in store today.

The snow flurried like singing foxes, making Andrea relaxed.

As Andrea stepped outside and Jona came closer, he could see the vigorous glint in his eye.

Jona glared with all the wrath of 7897 wild bored bears. He said, in hushed tones, "I hate you and I want a fight."

Andrea looked back, even more relaxed and still playing with the tiny hat. "Lets do this," he replied.

They looked at each other with confident feelings, like two hard, hungry guys looking for a fight.

Andrea stepped forward and as he did his hat transformed into a sword.

Jona looked surprised, but he didnt let the surprise weapon stop him from drawing out his own sword.

And then the fight began.

THE END
