Write a letter to your father thanking him for the book and tell him why you like it

Dear Dad,

You vowed that you would do it differently than your father—and you did. You were the first person in your family to graduate from high school. And college. With careful savings from your school teaching job, you swept us away to a small, suburban town—to a world of safety, order, and security.

How hard it must have been to see your one child grow wild with wanderlust.

A child who dreamed of skyscrapers and safaris and everything beyond our townhouse fences. A child who skipped, fell, danced, stumbled. Grew up. Discovered yoga. And then questioned every rule of an orderly world.

But it was yoga that saved me when you checked yourself into the hospital. The day before I was to take my test to be a yoga teacher, they cracked your heart wide open. And that became my true test—that was what you prepared me for all along.

I guided mom through gentle breathing exercises while we sat in the waiting room.

I swaddled her in yoga blankets at night and placed her in restorative poses to help her sleep. I read the Bhagavad Gita. Not the scripture you would’ve chosen for me, but I studied persistently, as your schoolteacher ways taught me.

You survived your open-heart surgery, and your heart, did in fact, open even more. For what felt like the first time, you accepted me in all my fire and defiance. A gate was unlatched. You did it differently. Just like you vowed you always would.

Utilitarian is to frivolous as metaphysical is to _____ a.earthly. b.otherworldly.c. pointless. d.serious.
goldfiish [28.3K]
The correct answer is A. Earthly

Utilitarian and frivolous are antonyms, which means they mean the opposite. The opposite of metaphysical is earthly because metaphysics often deal with supernatural things or things that cannot be observed.

Hog Wild Over Video Games by Moesha Harper What can the reader infer from the information in lines 6 through 10 A. The pigs only
Stells [14]

Answer:

D

Explanation:

Line 6 through 10 tells about an experiment run by an animal researcher in which pigs were trained to play video games. Line 9-10 of the passage goes as: <em>"...Curtis (the researcher) said the pigs got the point within minutes, learning at as rate as fast as chimpanzees." </em>He compared the learning speed between pigs and chimpanzees, which implies that chimpanzees were also trained to play the same games as pigs and even before pigs.

In addition:

A is incorrect as <em>candy </em>was not mentioned in the lines.

B is incorrect as the animal researcher worked with pigs <em>over a period of several weeks</em>, not years.

C is incorrect as the game was not described in the lines so the matching game was unknown.

Paraphin [41]
The main idea is the evasive beauty of nature, but also purposeful human intrusion upon nature. The clues are: a man who went to the wilderness for the sheer pleasure of capturing a beautiful natural scene of a wild creature; the deer's mistrust and frightfulness. Eventually, both of them, the man and the deer, got away - the deer ran into safety, and the man went back to civilization with a photo of the deer.

Yes, it is about a photo that is very important to the author, for the reasons I've explained.

The last line implies that the author had captured and tamed the wilderness, if only for a single moment.

I think it would be "French" considering proper adjectives are derived from proper nouns and French describes the toast.
