85 points; Read the summary of “The Beginnings of the Maasai.” In “The Beginnings of the Maasai,” the daughter of the Maasai exp

lains the relationship between the Maasai and their sky god Enkai. She explains how a volcanic eruption sent Enkai and the cattle into the sky. In order to save the cattle, Enkai created a giant tree that allowed them to walk back to earth. Then, Enkai entrusted Neiterkob, the narrator’s father, and his tribe to care for the cattle. As a result, the cattle are sacred to the Maasai, and the Maasai maintain a close connection with Enkai. Is this an effective summary of the story? Yes, because it includes key ideas from the beginning, middle, and end, and it explains the conflict and the resolution. Yes, because it focuses on the details from the beginning, the obstacles from the middle, and the resolution from the end. No, because it is uses too many specific names from the beginning, middle, and end, and it has a vague resolution. No, because it leaves out details from the beginning, the obstacles from the middle, and the resolution from the end.

No, because it leaves out details from the beginning, the obstacles from the middle, and the resolution from the end. I believe that would be your correct answer.

Read the excerpt from Elie Wiesel’s All Rivers Run to the Sea.
Scorpion4ik [409]
In this excerpt, the writer criticizes that the Allies did not respond strongly enough to the death camps in Germany and Poland. He argues that it was easy to postpone the deaths of some people and that one should fight at every instance against crime. It is clear that the author is against the opinion that countries should remain neutral or that people should avoid confrontation at all costs; when human lives are at stake one should mobilize and dispose of the mantle of neutrality. He would probably agree with the opinion that one should proactively fight injustice; this practice would have saved many lives during the holocaust. The correct answer is b. D is wrong because while he thinks that their stance was bad, they did not cause the Holocaust; they just handled it incorrectly.

The Head Teacher,

              Dear Sir,

LETTER FOR A CHANGE OF PROGRAMME

I humbly write out of a heart that desires quality. Having gone through the senior high school where I recently got an admission, I discovered that there are somethings I will like to share with you.

First, the department lacks adequate laboratory equipment. They seem to be glued to the use of "ancient" laboratory. Their available equipment makes practical works boring and uninteresting.

Also, the department's teaching standard is very poor. Some of the teachers are unable to present their lessons properly for students to grasp.

These are some of the reasons why I solicit for a change of program. I believe another program will be better off for me.

                                                                                           Yours faithfully,

                                                                                                   Chris O.

What is the moral message from the story of the ‘examination day’
Mariulka [41]

Answer:

One theme in this short story 'Examination Day' is that intelligence is not always valued in society. In the story, the government has a strong grip over the town and does not want anyone to question them. The unusual thing about this examination is that success was seen as negative.
