You didn’t post a picture of the assignment so that makes it tricky to help, but Ser means “to be”. Therefore, “I am very short” is issuing the verb ser. That would translate to “Yo soy muy bajo.” The verb forms are

I- Soy.
You- eres
He/she- es
We- Somos
You all- sois
They- Son
