Immigrants Came to U.S. in the 1800s and 1900s. Immigrants who came to the United States during the late 19th and early 20th centuries generally came for economic opportunities or to escape from difficult environments in their home countries. Many immigrants came to the U.S. to better themselves economically.

Expansionist justified the idea of Manifest Destiny because they said they were spreading democracy. They wanted everybody to be live like they do and to be democratic and what better way to do that than by spreading the word to the people living on the land that they already conquered.

The rise of christianity in the Roman Empire was different to that of medieval Europe. 

In the Roman Empire, christians were persecuted at the beginning and very slowly increased the amount of people who believed in their god. However, as time passed, more and more people identified themselves as belonging to the christian religion.

In medieval Europe on the other hand, christianity became popular much faster, as there was not that much opposition, compared to the times of Roman empire.
