  • Jornalist:: Mr. Clemenceau, what would be the fairest punishment for the Germans after the war?
  • Clemenceau: They would have to be punished severely by payment of high war reparations
  • Journalist: what do you think about the territory of the Rhineland?
  • Clemenceau: That territory should be incorporated into the French economy.
  • Jornalist: what should be done with the German colonial empire?
  • Clemenceau: The territories that belong to the German Empire, should be distributed among the winning powers as a way to pay the costs of war
  • Journalist: Regarding the German population and believe that they deserve some kind of help for its reconstruction?
  • Clemenceau: No, not at all, they started the war and must be punished severely.
  • Jornalist: Believes that his ideas were accompanied by, Woodrow Wilson and Lloyd George.
  • Clemenceau: No, not at all, they were very benevolent. As I already mentioned, in my opinion the punishment should be more severe.
