A relationship between x and y is defined by the equation − 5 x + 3 y = 12 , where x is the input and y is the output. Indicate

whether each of these statements about the relationship is true or false by selecting a box in each row. Statement True False y is a function of x . The graph of the relationship is a line. The graph of the relationship passes through the origin. When the input is 6, the output is 14.

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

y is a function of x . TRUE

The graph of the relationship is a line.  TRUE

The graph of the relationship passes through the origin.  - it in standard form, when you plugin 0 for x or y, you get the other intersect( x-intercept: (12/-5,0) y-intercept: (0,4)) so it dosent go throught the origin. FALSE

When the input is 6, the output is 14. TRUE

-5(6)+3(14)=12

-30+42=12

12=12

A store pays $ 56 for a cell phone. The store marks the price at 20%. What is the quantity of the mark?
galben [10]

Answer:

The quantity of the mark is $11.20

Step-by-step explanation:

Given that:

Amount paid by store for cell phone = $56

The store marks the price at 20%.

Quantity of the mark = 20% of 56

Quantity of the mark = \frac{20}{100}*56

Quantity of the mark = 0.2 * 56

Quantity of the mark = $11.20

Hence,

The quantity of the mark is $11.20

Which function describes the graph below?
Anna71 [15]

The graph of this sinasoid wave is B) f(x) = 3cos(x) + 3

We can tell this for two reasons. Firstly, the multiplier in the beginning is always equal to half of the height of the graph. Since the graph goes as high at 6 and as low as 0, we know the overall height is 6. Half of that is 3. This means that we have a 3 for the multiplier.

Next, we can decide between sin and cos by determining that it starts up and ends down. Sin starts moving up at the beginning and cos moves up at the beginning. Therefore, it must be the cos.
