What made dr kings use of non violence so effective was because of all the media attention the civil rights movement was receiving. It was through such media outlets like television, newspaper and radio that king demonstrated to America and the whole world that the black community wasn't going to bend their knees to white oppression, and that it was in fact the black community that held the moral high ground.
