The individual could even end up doing things that contradict what he/she personally thinks. This can be explained because in this group, the individual experiences anonymity and feels no need to take responsibility for the group’s actions.
- The hypothesis of the research argues that when an individual enters a group, they can be ignore their individual and moral beliefs, being prone to participate in activities that they might consider arguable if they were not part of it.
