Sadly the world was crying outside, with murky raindrops splashing against the window. Drat, that means I can’t play tennis today! But suddenly an idea popped into my head like a strike of thunder. I can play tennis inside the house! Excitement bubbled in my stomach, but OH NO; I ACCIDENTALLY BROKE THE VASE!

I’m not sure if this is what you want lol

The characterization presented in the text suggests that Anne was a very optimistic person, as shown in the third answer option.

We can arrive at this answer because:

  • The text shows an indirect characterization by showing Anne's optimistic behavior.
  • That's because the text shows how the hiding place where Anne was with her family was ugly and uncomfortable, but she recognized that it was the best they could have at the moment.
  • This situation showed to Anne that even though they were in a strange place, this was the best place in the entire country, as it was the place that kept them safe.

This characterization shows how Anne was optimistic and sought to see the best of situations even if those situations were bad.

This Mystery Rocks! By Cyntha Schlagel
bekas [8.4K]
The answer is C.

The author provides different facts. For instance, "Unlike normal rocks, they have trails etched behind them as if they have traveled across the sand. Some trails are only a few feet. Some trails are over a half a mile long." Is an example of a fact.
Another example includes, "Some rocks seem to roll as they move forward. Some take unexplainable routes. Large ones have traveled past small ones that have stayed still."
