Matt's body is using the fuel known as Glucose. Glucose is a type of

carbohydrate which gives cells energy needed for their daily activities.

Glucose is gotten from the digestion of starch in which is formed alongside

other compounds such as maltose,  galactose etc.

Glucose is however very important as it is the most readily absorbed

compounds that gives cells energy. This is why glucose is used for high

intensity short races so as to give athletes burst of energy.
