Innovation. Modernism. Aesthetics.
These three are the key elements in creating something new today. We are all linked through social media and
wireless technologies. These I believe are key to survive in the modern world.
In Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs, there might be a need to update the pyramid in
which we have to include “internet” as
necessity, since internet does not only play a big role in the adult world but
also among the youth.
We could not deny the fact that
gadgets and social media have been toys of
the young nowadays. Parents and families reward their children with these
things. This could enhance their ability to perform daily activities such as
studying and research, easily and conveniently. These modern toys have been
part of their daily existence. On the other hand, these have also caused
boundaries between parent-child relationships or kid-kid relationships since
all their attention are spent looking down at their tablets and phones. Kids
nowadays refuse to go out and play with other children due to video game
addiction. This is a saddening truth and a threat in strengthening social
connections. A while ago, I mentioned about innovation, modernism and
aesthetics as key elements to create new things nowadays. Now, I want to go
back in time and relate what this famous Roman architect and engineer,
Vitruvius, applied in making his buildings. He was guided by these three
elements- Utilitas, Fimitas and Venustas.
All these three when combined will create a three-part rubric which would
serve as my guide in making my toy. Utilitas- I wanted my toy to serve its
function. I want it to be created in a way that would satisfy my client’s
desire for a toy. Firmitas- I would want the toy to fit in a modern set-up but
with the strongest foundations and material which would last forever. Venustas-
I would have my toy sculpted in a manner that would interact with my client’s
passion and heart’s desire to see something pleasing in his or her eyes. I know
any reader would raise his or her brow just by reading this three-part rubric, but
believe me when I say I am a lover of art. I can see an artist inside anybody
and that I would like to cultivate to each and every one who plays with my toy.
Toys as Arts, Arts as Toys. I want to create something wherein both the kids
and the adults would love to draw their attention to. I want them to bring back
the lost bond between people and mend what was broken through self-expression
and self-healing. In the world of social media, people rant so hard and bully
others, talking back hurtful words against one another, but the world with my
toy, people had already expressed themselves, whether angry or happy, scared or
joyed, before talking ill against each other. Truly the toy I created is a
reflection of myself, a strong, functional, beautiful and humble piece of ART. Yes, just art.

Answer:
In the morning, if I have my blinds open then It is not very bright. But around noon, It gets very bright. When it is night, It gets dark. To make a representation of the morning, I could use my lava lamp. For noon, I gould use a flashlight. For night, I would put A blanket over the represetation, to show blackness.

To the editor,
ADVANTAGES AND DISADVANTAGES OF LEARNING FROM HOME
Good day Sir, my name is Raj.
I made this decision to write you this letter to tell you my experiences since this coronavirus pandemic.
With the lockdown due to the virus, schools have been closed for a while now and there have been home learning to make sure that students are not totally without education. I believe this is very good but like anything that has an advantage, there are also disadvantages.
Since I started learning at home, I found out I assimilate information much faster because I'm mostly taught by my parents or a teacher as the case may be.
Another advantage is the fact that there is ample time for "field work" or practicals which were not like this in school.
One advantage I noticed is that, there are lots of distractions because people at home would distract someone that is ready to play.
While we struggle with the reality of the virus, I do believe that learning from home have far superior points.
Yours sincerely,
Raj Kumar
