The behavior expected of Clive in the new class is " Why study?" There isn't anything I can do to improve my Spanish skills."

Learned helplessness is a theory in psychology where a person after being continuously exposed to a negative circumstance for a long time accepts the circumstance and stops trying to change the circumstance.

This theory was developed by  Martin Seligman and Steven Maier. They noticed that dogs stopped attempting to avoid getting shocks after continual exposure to the shocks. This behaviour continued even after they were placed in different circumstances.

If Clive has learned helplessness, he would believe he is poor in Spanish and he would not even make an effort in understanding Spanish. This is because he believes he is poor at Spanish.

Here are the options of this question:

a. " Spanish is a difficult subject that I am very poor at."

b. " I sure hope that my Spanish professor is better than my high school Spanish teacher."

c. " Why study?" There isn't anything I can do to improve my Spanish skills."

d. "If I spend more time studying, I'm sure I will do better than in high school."

e. " I need to find a good tutor to help me learn Spanish; I can't learn it on my own."

What is the temperature of 12.20 mol of gas in a 18.35 l tank at 16.40 atm? round your answer to the tenths place.
lys-0071 [83]

Based on the calculations, the temperature of this ideal gas is equal to 300.5 K.

<h3>How to calculate the temperature.</h3>

Mathematically, the temperature of an ideal gas is given by this formula:

PV=nRT\\\\T=\frac{PV}{nR}

<u>Where:</u>

  • P is the pressure.
  • R is the ideal gas constant.
  • T is the temperature.
  • n is the number of moles.
  • V is the volume.

<u>Given the following data:</u>

Number of moles = 12.20 moles.

Volume = 18.35 L.

Pressure = 16.40 atm.

Substituting the given parameters into the formula, we have;

T=\frac{16.40 \times  18.35}{12.20 \times 0.0821}\\\\T=\frac{300.94}{1.00162}

T = 300.5 K.
