The central idea of this paragraph is to inform the reader about the author and her relationship with her mother from an early age.We are told how mother and daughter got along starting from the fact they shared a common name, through the well-behaved baby phase and the rocky chatty childhood until reaching the belligerent teenager stage.

Based on conflict within fiction, explain these statements: Conflict is both tormentor and teacher. The struggle is real, and it
charle [14.2K]

Answer:

In regard to fiction, it is often said that conflict in literary work functions both as a tormentor, as well as, a teacher. As we know, conflict is characterized as the clash or disagreement that a character undergoes with either an external force like society, nature, and another character or within themselves i.e. internal conflict. A conflict is a tormentor as it drives the characters to initiate mistakes and unexpected steps that often bring fatal consequences yet it is a teacher as it allows the characters to learn from their mistakes and evolve a human and an individual. It also assists in building tension and conveying this message effectively to the readers through which the readers can associate.

The struggle or the battle that a character undergoes due to this external or internal conflict they are suffering is both real and important. Real as it associates to our real-world when people suffer a clash of ideologies where a person's entire thought-process and morals are challenged by a strong force(nature, society, etc.). It is important as it allows us a different framework to view the world, learn from the mistakes, understand their follies, and evolve.
