Answer:

16 : 24 (1 : 1.5)

for simplyfication we need to make the number of erasers 1 so we need to divide 16 by 16 and we also need to divide 24 by 16 which is 1.5 and the simplyfied answer would be 1 : 1.5 I hope this helps.

Since you know you have 16 erasers and 24 pencils, the first thing you should do is put it in to an actual ratio, like so:
16:24
Now that you have a ratio, you need to simplify it. It is very similar to simplifying fractions. You can start by dividing by 2, which gives you:
8:12
And by two again:
4:6
And again:
2:3
So you now know that Gregory’s ratio of erasers to pencils in his locker is 2:3!!
You could also divide 16:24 by 8 which gives you the answer quicker, but I find it easier to break it down in smaller, more manageable chunks. It’s all in finding a common multiple and making the ratio the smallest whole numbers possible :)

Each triangle is a 30-60-90 triangle, and the hypotenuse of one triangle is the longer leg of an adjacent triangle. the hypotenu
Trava [24]
Let the first right triangle be ABC where A is the right angle and BC the hypotenuse of length a.
If BC is the longer leg of the second right triangle and CD is the shorter leg, the longer hypotenuse is BD of length x, and the right angle is BCD. BD=x=8cm. CBD=BCA=30 and BD is parallel to AC, making BDCA a trapezoid. Also a/x=cos30=√3/2.
So a=8×√3/2=4√3 cm. the longer leg of ABC, the smaller triangle, is AC. AC/a=cos30=√3/2, so AC=a√3/2=(4√3)√3/2=6 cm.

In a 45-45-90 triangle, what is the length of the hypotenuse when the length of one of the legs is 5 in.?
Contact [7]
Hello!

since this is a 45-45-90 degree triangle the hypotenuse is a\sqrt{2} where a is one of the legs

So the answer is 5\sqrt{2}

Hope this helps!

The flagpole is 20 ft high and casts an 8 foot shadow, the oak tree casts a 12 foot shadow. How tall is the oak tree
Fudgin [204]
Answer: 4.8 ft

To answer this question you need to know how much shadow: actual height ratio. Flagpole is having 8 ft shadow with 20 ft actual height. The ratio should be= 8 ft: 20 ft= 0.4

Then multiply the ratio with the oak tree shadow. The equation would be:
0.4 x 12 ft= 4.8 ft
